MATH 135

Algebra for Honours Mathematics

A study of the basic algebraic systems of mathematics: the integers, the integers modulo n, the rational numbers, the real numbers, the complex numbers and polynomials.

Includes assignments, 1 or 2 midterms and a final. Lots of proofs, difficulty of course often depends on the number of proofs (and how hard they are) on the final.

It's like trying to score 140 on an IQ test when your IQ is 100. No matter how many times you do them (assuming they change every time), you won't achieve 140 without luck.

If you find this easy, man fuck you.

HARD, all theoretical based (not problem solving)

Assignments are hella hard, but they're only worth 15% total. Midterms are pretty easy even the proofs on the midterms. All-in-all, if you study the proofs like mad among the other stuff you should be fine. Definitely not a bird course though.

Depends on your prof but coming out from high school, it is definitely a big change. The proofs is where everyone struggles.. so make sure you know the other portions as they'll pull up your mark.
