An introduction to the concepts of cell biology with emphasis on (1) the structural organization of the cell and (2) the function of critical molecular processes that are characteristic of living organisms.
So easy, Bols is the nicest prof ever. The tests are easy, he uses course notes, and a CD which includes all the lecture info so you basically don't even have to go to class. one midterm one final all multiple choice. The tutorial section is just free marks

| Cptn_Crunch - 2014-05-27 15:40:26 Recommended that you take 12U biology before taking this course. Like most bio courses there's lots of memorization. Tutorials are mandatory and they have their own separate assignments adding to your workload. Mid-terms are not too difficult if you study, not likely to have trick questions. Same goes for the final but it is very long being over 100 questions long. Every assessment is multiple choice though. |
| JustAddWater - 2013-07-17 20:25:04 Took this course without having even taken biology in high school, so all of the content was very new to me. There was a truckload of stuff to memorize, and I found the assessments pretty challenging. The tutorial did boost my mark a fair bit, though. |
| warrior - 2012-07-12 18:53:33 Teacher has changed to Heidi, and since then, marks have decreased. A lot of memorization. Very hard if you have not taken it in high school. I took hs biology and got 79%. Midterm easy. Final is impossible! |

Like many biology courses, if you're good at memorizing, you're set. Tutorial is mandatory since it covers 25% of your grade (free marks). |

| tomato - 2011-02-01 16:59:55 You don't even have to show up- all the lectures are on a CD. Midterm and final are easy. Doesn't take too much work to get a good mark. |
