This course is designed for those who have had no previous training in French and who desire an intensive, practical introduction to the language. It offers basic, comprehensive training in both written and spoken French. In addition to in-class hours, students will be required to enroll in a one-hour on-line tutorial as well as work independently on-line.

Very easy course. Good GPA booster

The bird factor of this varies. I found a lot of people describe it as an easy course but those same people often also mention having studied french in high school. Haven't done that I found myself spending a lot of time memorizing nouns, verbs and just learning the language properly. To add to that, the PhD student that was our prof was completely useless due to the language barrier, and the class often spent 5-10 minutes just trying to convey their questions to her, often to receive a completely unrelated answer. With the mandatory $150 textbook+online access package this really starts to look like an annoying time black hole for those who are actually starting from level 0 and not just sitting in class pretending they know nothing about French and acing the tests later without doing any studying. TL;DR: a bird course if you've studied French before.
