PMATH 453

Functional Analysis

Banach and Hilbert spaces, bounded linear maps, Hahn-Banach theorem, open mapping theorem, closed graph theorem, topologies, nets, Hausdorff spaces, Tietze extension theorem, dual spaces, weak topologies, Tychonoff's theorem, Banach-Alaoglu theorem, reflexive spaces.

Extremely easy course. Assignments all took under an hour to do, questions were practically obvious. Hardly ever went to lectures. Barely studied at all for the final, finished in an hour, got a 99% in the course in the end. Almost as easy as AMATH250, except it's a 4th-year PMATH course somehow! Great for meeting degree requirements while simultaneously padding your average.

A Fall 2015 Kenny D.
We were just getting into math when it got real, igniting a voluptuous flare in my scepter (pen). Sadly, we encountered some relationship problems and it got complex, but all of those were sorted out and now we are doing fun anal! Grade A+, funnest anal, can confirm.

What are you talking about? This was one of my favorite courses. Barely had to put any work into it. Easy 90.

Someone is making a joke here. This is one of the top 3 hardest math courses offered at Waterloo.
