Quite challenging.

@JustAddWater if u dont mind me asking u since ur comment is the most recent, would u be able to send me an outline of the course to my email? (dima.sammur@hotmail.com) i cant seem to find one except for the online course. I need to take it but doesn't fit my schedule so I wanna compare it to the online outline, I'd really appreciate it!

I found the assignment questions to be much more difficult than the midterm/exam questions, so if you can do those, you should be set. Content-wise, I found it all genuinely interesting, up until we got to Taylor series and related topics at the end. Requires some effort on your part to understand the exact procedures, but that's nothing you can't do, right?

hated this class so much, although our exams were easy yet the content was just brutal.. ended up with a 57..could have definilty done much better.. didn't do the last 5 assignemnts
ishimernshin - 2012-10-10 11:56:43
I took this instead of math 138 and found the courses very similar- still quite challenging. In the end our class was so terrible they belled my mark up 10% to a 78%.
lmpersonator - 2012-06-08 10:21:44
Weekly assignments with 4-5 questions + a hard question. Never attempted the hard question, but the other questions are doable. Just pay attention in class and you can get 75+ for sure. If you do well on the midterms, then you'll do well on the exam. It's kind of similar. Not a bird course (as in you put in little/no effort at all), but definitely interesting and easy-ish. Do study though! I was in West's class and he made it fun.

If you're decent at math this course isn't too bad. Takes quite a bit of effort, but if you keep on top of it then you will be fine. I personally found this course more interesting than 127. Not a bird course but its required for almost every science program, so use the textbook and do the problems and you'll pull off at least a 70%.
schooled - 2010-05-19 21:19:44
This is NOT a bird course. Neither was 127. Requires all your time (even the time spent sleeping). The questions you see on assignments, in class, midterm, and exams are NOTHING alike and you're sitting there going wth did we talk about this for 99.99% of the course.

Math "XYZ" for any of "Sciences, Arts, Engineering" is by definition a bird course.

I'm taking this course right now. It's a pretty tough course, but material is very useful for physics and other sciences. Only reason course is so hard is because my prof is very bad at his job. But thank jesus there's a texbook =)
brite_baybee - 2009-01-02 21:36:09
this is not easy i dont think this should be on this BIRD course www. this is the most hardest course ever

waterlooian - 2008-10-27 02:03:35
decent course, just go to class to copy notes and you'll do fine. very short assignments (max 4-5 questions each)
