Sociological Perspectives

An introduction to basic sociological concepts and theoretical frameworks used to understand the social structures and cultures that transcend and shape personal experience. Focusing on Canadian society in historical and comparative context, topics include power, differentiation, social control and socialization. Course credit exclusions: AK/SOCI 2410 6.00, GL/SOCI 2510 6.00. Note: Sociology majors must take this course within their first 48 credits.

Prof. Debra Langan 2 exams, both are take home and involve essays. 4 multiple choice tests, you get the questions in advance. Powerpoint slides on webct 4% free for doing journals 15% tutorial participation and attendance.
