Differential Geometry

An introduction to differentiable manifolds. The tangent and cotangent bundles. Vector fields and differential forms. The Lie bracket and Lie derivative of vector fields. Exterior differentiation, integration of differential forms, and Stokes's Theorem. Riemannian manifolds, affine connections, and the Riemann curvature tensor.

If Park teaches the course, and you want a easy 4th year pmath credit, take it. He plays favourites, and if you're not the smartest kid in the class, he won't care about you, but he won't fail you either (by fail i mean 80%). oh, skip the class, but do the assignments (they're hard, but it's okay, everyone else fails too). Just a warning, park is an A$$-O, but whatever. he doesn't care about your respect either.

A Fall 2015 Doug Park

Take it with Doug if you want a bird course, but don't take it with Park because of reasons that overwhelm the utility of the previous clause. 100% assignments, which are problem references to an AMATH-y textbook. He wrote two problems - one of them had to be retracted, and the other was utterly unoriginal and trite. If you submit your shit, you can get >90 without really learning anything.
